JOHN FOU

John Fou was born in 1983 in Les Lilas. He lives and works in Paris.

Self-taught, he emerges from the world of live performance, notably circus, dance, and theater. His artistic expression revolves around figurative painting, where he stages social interactions between various animal species, thus offering a metaphor for his own life and human relationships in general. His sources of inspiration are varied, ranging from mythology to cave paintings, psychology, dance, video games, cartoons, and classical painting.

His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions. In 2023, he notably participated in the group exhibition "Al Dente: A Feast for the Senses" at the Berntson Bhattacharjee gallery in London. His works are part of the collections of the X Museum in Beijing, the Fondation Hermès in Paris, and the Fondation Greenline in Paris. John Fou is represented by Stems gallery (Paris, Brussels).
