LAURENT CHAMPOUSSIN

French artist, born in 1971 in Nice, lives and works in Nantes, France.

After studying film research, Laurent Champoussin worked for more than fifteen years in the film industry, notably as an executive producer for Alain Cavalier, Aki Kaurismäki and Nuri Bilge Ceyan. Since 2007, he has devoted himself exclusively to photography. Versatile, Champoussin excels as much in the art of portraiture as in the art of landscape, sports images or still life. He regularly works for the cinema on the shoots of Sébastien Marnier, Hirokazu Kore-Eda or Emmanuelle Bercot. Since 2008, Champoussin is regularly presented in group and solo exhibitions: at Actes Sud during the photographic meetings in Arles (2014), at the Point Éphémère in Paris (2015), at the Jean-Honoré Fragonard Museum and the Provencal Museum of Costume and Jewelry in Grasse (2018), at the Scène nationale 61 in Alençon (2019), at the Villa Noailles in Hyères (2019) or at the Burning Giraffe Gallery in Turin (2019).
